6 Adorable Wine Bars In Waco

1. Songbird

Songbird Wine Bar

This is probably my favorite wine bar in Waco, simply because it’s so beautiful! Songbird is the ground floor wine bar and small bites eatery at the Herringbone Hotel. It’s a very small space with just a few little tables, but you can take your bottle of wine + 2 glasses to the outdoor seating and enjoy a date on the courtyard patio. There’s even a small stage where they often have free live music, and there’s a corner play area for children in case you’re doing a family trip to Waco. It's the perfect place to relax.

Songbird has a few wines by the glass (not many, to be honest…one red, one white, one rosé, and one sparkling), but they have a really nice selection of bottles.

And if you’re not interested in wine but you just want a pretty place to relax, they also have local craft beer, other alcoholic beverages like cider and seltzers, and N/A options like probiotic sodas, kombucha, and fizzy water. There are some grab-and-go meals and snacks, as well as a few little gift options like fancy chocolates and such.

2. Segovia Wine Bar

Segovia Wine Bar

Segovia is another personal favorite wine bar in Waco. They’re literally right down the street from Magnolia Market, so this is the place I often recommend to people who are enjoying a day of shopping and then want to take a break and get a glass of wine in the middle of the afternoon.

This is a Spanish wine bar in the heart of downtown Waco. Guests can enjoy an extensive selection of wines (really, it's very impressive!) that are mostly from Spain and Portugal. (They also have a variety of wines from other regions.)

Segovia is a full-blown restaurant, too. In addition to fine wine, you can enjoy tapas and pintxos like papas bravos, gambas al ajillo, and other traditional Spanish bar food. They have brunch on Sundays and lunch/dinner every other day. (Closed Mondays.)

And for all of you Waco locals, they have something called Segovia Cellar. It's their monthly membership where you get access to members-only tastings, exclusive wines, and a special wine of the month.

3. Marie’s Wine Bar

Marie's Wine Bar

If you love tasting a lot of different types of wine, you need to go to Marie's! This is one of those serve-yourself wine bars. You'll get a card, and then you can select your own pour size and type of wine. Then you insert the card into the machine and wine is dispensed...kind of like a vending machine for adults. 😉

Marie's Wine Bar has live music, wine by-the-glass, and a stellar downtown location. In addition to their wine selection (which is honestly very good!), Marie's definitely caters to central Texas folks by offering cocktails, wine cocktails, and sake cocktails.

The live music ranges from jazz quartets to singer songwriters. It's typically scheduled for the weekends, but check the wine menu to see the current schedule.

4. The Grape

the Grape

The Grape Wine Bar and Bistro is out at the Ridgewood Village Shopping Center, so it's a good option if you want to avoid the downtown Waco/silos tourist crowds. This is that comforting, cozy, traditional wine bar that you want to go to at the end of a long day. It's not modern and fancy, but they have good food, a wonderful selection of wine, and a lot of regulars who love this place.

The menu literally changes every single day here! They have appetizers, entrees (ribeye, salmon), and dessert that chef Jason Rolf develops every day. Quite impressive!

5. Lighthouse Coffee and Wine

Lighthouse Coffee and Wine

I've shared this adorable coffee shop and wine bar on this guide to the best coffee shops in Waco, but it's worth mentioning here, too. The folks at Lighthouse are so wonderful! It's a small, cozy space where you might enjoy meeting up with a friend or just enjoying a solo glass of wine while you wrap up a few work items on your laptop.

They have bottles of wine from around the world. Looking for a single glass? Head in for $5 wine Wednesday! Lighthouse also offers 10% off all bottled wine to go, so this is a great spot to buy a unique bottle for your next dinner party.

6. Pignetti’s

Pignetti's Waco

Pignetti’s is an Italian restaurant that started in Temple, and now they also have a Waco location. It’s absolutely phenomenal hospitality, Italian cuisine, and …wine!

Seriously, you could absolutely skip dinner and just cozy up at the bar with your date to split a bottle of wine, and you’ll have a fantastic time. They have a great selection, really knowledgeable staff, and a cozy ambiance.
