The Best Cupcakes In Waco - Ranked

5. Smallcakes Cupcakes and Ice Cream

smallcakes cupcakery

You might have seen Smallcakes on Food Network’s Cupcake Wars (it was on 3 different seasons!) or maybe you’ve been the lucky recipient of these gorgeous cupcakes…and if you’re new to Smallcakes, you should definitely try them!

These are very “professional” cupcakes. It’s a bigger company with two locations in Texas and a signature, polished look in the bakery and in their desserts.

They have so many flavors, and this is one of the best places to go if you want to cater a lot of cupcakes for an event like a wedding or a birthday party.

4. Jimmie Quinn’s

Jimmie Quinns Bakery

Jimmie Quinn’s is a small bakery located inside Rachelle’s Beauty Bar, and it’s one of the best places in Waco to get absolutely gorgeous, custom-made cupcakes. Seriously, go look at the adorable designs on their Instagram page.

But if you just want a basic, delicious cupcake, this Waco bakery is a good option for that, too. The flavors rotate weekly but usually feature a few basics like vanilla, chocolate, and red velvet, and fun flavors like chocolate chip cookie dough or Oreo.

3. Silos Baking Co

Campfire Cupcakes

The MOST FAMOUS cupcakes in Waco (I mean, have you seen any other Waco cupcake bakeries plastered on a billboard on I-35?!) and so I had to go check them out! Chip and Joanna Gaines of Fixer Upper fame opened this bakery at their popular Magnolia Market in downtown Waco, and the line is often out the door.

The cupcakes are absolutely scrumptious. They're small, but they’re also not too expensive. The cake is extra fluffy (not quite Angel Food light, but very airy) and the frosting is a whipped texture. I wouldn’t call these the best cupcakes in Waco, but they’re very good.

2. Sweetness Desserts

Sweetness Desserts is a custom-cake bakery in Waco. They specialize in wedding cakes and more elaborate desserts, but you can also stop by for a grab-and-go cupcake. Everything is made in-house and absolutely decadent.

The cupcakes are a little bit small but the flavors are so rich. If you stop by, be sure to try the Coffee Toffee Caramel Crunch, which is exactly what it sounds like. Heaven.

1. Baked Bliss

Baked Bliss Waco-4

The very best cupcakes in Waco? Baked Bliss. Warning: they have so much frosting! Like, the frosting-to-cupcake ratio is way off balance, and I love it. These cupcakes are made in-house and hand-frosted (sometimes they’re not even frosted until you order them!) and the flavors are sooo delicious.

The vanilla cupcakes and lemon cupcakes are my personal favorites. They also have an impressive lineup of gluten free and dairy free cupcakes which is rare in Waco.

One more cupcake idea for you in Waco: Don’t forget that H-E-B grocery stores have bakeries inside of them, and their cupcakes are really good! They rival the best bakeries in Waco. You can just stop by and grab a few from the pastry case, or place an order ahead of time.
