I’m in love with Waco’s quickly growing food and beverage scene. Seriously…from the incredible coffee shops to the craft breweries and absolutely phenomenal restaurants we have here, Waco’s bars and restaurants have never been hotter. And now there are a bunch of rooftop bars in Waco that are worth visiting, too.

The Most Gorgeous Rooftop Bars in Waco

1. Bertie’s On The Rooftop

Bertie's on the Rooftop

Ooh, this one is absolutely magical! Bertie’s On The Rooftop is the 4th floor restaurant and bar at Chip and Joanna Gaines’s boutique Hotel 1928

To find this rooftop bar, you’ll have to go past the hotel coffee shop, past the sunken library, to the elevator at the back of the hotel. (Staff can help you find it if you need help! From there, you’ll go up to the 4th floor and you’ll emerge at the interior portion of Bertie’s. And if the weather is nice, please ask for a table outside - it's such a gorgeous rooftop patio in Waco!

Dinner is served until 10 pm, so you can order their pimento cheese, the cedar plank salmon or any of the other New American dishes that you want. But my favorite way to enjoy Bertie’s is to ask for a cocktail or a glass of wine to enjoy on the outside patio. (My experience at this hotel is that the food is overpriced for the quality of cuisine and service.)

While I did have a very if-y experience at the ground floor restaurant here at the hotel, I actually do recommend visiting the rooftop bar. Stop by Bertie’s On The Rooftop for cocktails or a glass of wine on a nice evening. It truly is one of the most magical places in Waco, and the views are unbeatable!

2. Dichotomy Coffee and Spirits

Dichotomy rooftop bar

Dichotomy looks like a normal coffee shop in the morning, but in the evening it transforms into a chic, dimly-lit cocktail bar. The bartenders are phenomenal and can make pretty much anything you want, but it’s fun to order off the menu because they have some excellent drinks on it.

Once you get your cocktail at the bar, take it to the upstairs rooftop deck. You can enjoy a close-up view of the Alico Building from this second-story patio. It’s a really pretty space to soak in the night air and enjoy a conversation. While it’s not quite as chic as something like Bertie’s, it’s a comfortable, welcoming place, and the cocktails are solid.

3. Lucky Buck Rooftop Bar

Lucky Buck's Waco

Lucky Buck Rooftop Bar in Waco is located at the luxury boutique Herringbone Hotel. This rooftop bar is open to all guests, regardless of whether they're staying in the hotel or not. It’s a fun, casual place with an unobstructed view of the Magnolia Market Silos.

It’s a great late night spot because it’s open from 6 pm - 12 am every night. And if you get the munchies, they have lots of good eats to order along with your beer or cocktail. Enjoy hot dogs, nachos, Polish sausage, and chili dogs. Y’know….good late night munchies!

I think this might be my favorite rooftop bar for a casual hangout. I love the ambiance, the frozen margaritas, and the views. 10/10 recommend stopping by Lucky Buck the next time you need a good rooftop bar experience in Waco.

5. Z’s At The Curry

Z's at the Curry

If you’re looking for an old school upscale bar experience in Waco, check out Z’s at the Curry. It’s mostly an indoor bar with a small outside patio. The interior is gorgeous! Herringbone floors, exposed brick walls, and vaulted ceilings. It’s in a historic building that was originally  built in 1946. It’s just a few blocks from Magnolia Market at the Silos, and it’s a great place to get a drink at the end of the day.

If you want that rooftop bar experience, request a table outside. You can enjoy views of the Alico Building and the stately county courthouse while you enjoy your old fashioned or glass of merlot.

The menu also has appetizers, flatbreads, and a few desserts. While you probably couldn’t make a full dinner out of the food menu, there are plenty of munchies to pair with your evening of drinks.
