Cool Hotels Near Magnolia Market in Waco
Magnolia Market is clearly THE thing to do in Waco! If you’re visiting Waco for a weekend (or even a day!), you probably have your sites set on visiting the adorable market from Chip and Joanna Gaines, eating at some of the food trucks, and hopefully shopping and finding one-of-a-kind items to bring home. And if you’re planning to stay overnight, there are a few really cool local hotels near Magnolia Market that are worth looking into.
Waco hasn’t always had really cool boutique hotels. In fact, even just a few years ago you were stuck with 2-star hotel chains and a bunch of really nice airbnb rentals. (More on those later!)
Recently, though, Waco has started getting a few really nice hotels. We’re talking totally unique boutique accommodations with amazing amenities like spas, restaurants, coffee shops, and gift stores.
Thankfully, Waco is still pretty small, so once you book your hotel you’ll be able to walk most places. (Book one of the hotels listed here so you can be sure it’s walking distance from Magnolia Market!
Also, since Waco is pretty tiny, your odds of being able to snag a room in one of these hotels is pretty good!

2. Pivovar Hotel and Restaurant
When you're looking for hotels near Magnolia Market, you can't get much closer than Pivovar.
But you also can't find a cooler hotel in Waco than this one! Pivovar is absolutely a one-of-a-kind destination in Texas. It's a Czech-inspired hotel, spa, restaurant, brewery, and biergarten. (You can read my full review from my weekend getaway at Pivovar right here.)
"Czech-inspired? What does that even mean?"
Pivovar creates an authentic Czech experience from start to finish!
- Their craft brewery uses old-world style brewing and beer serving methods to produce the finest Czech lagers you're going to find in the entire city. (Cheers!)
- The restaurant features dark wood, tall ceilings, copper serving vessels, and forest green textiles to create a gorgeous European feel.
- Menu items include authentic Czech cuisine like classic schnitzel, short rib goulash, and European sausage platters.
- Pivovar even has a beer spa, which features a copper tub filled with warm water and brewers yeast. It contains high levels of vitamin B and active enzymes (carbohydrates and proteins) which aids in skin regeneration. (Plus you get to enjoy a Czech beer while you're soaking!)
And yes, this brewery, restaurant, spa, and event space also features a boutique hotel that overlooks the Waco silos.
Each guest is given a free token for a beer at the brewery. You can check into your luxurious accommodations, grab a crisp beer, and then walk over to Magnolia Market to do a little. bit of shopping before checking out one of these dinner restaurants nearby.
Pivovar is a lovely place to stay in Waco! It's so incredibly unique and a much-needed change of pace from the boring chain hotels that are all over Waco.

3. Hotel 1928
Well, if you want the true Magnolia Market experience and you're a die-hard Chip and Jo fan, you might as well stay in their very own Waco hotel!
Hotel 1928 is a newly renovated 33-room boutique hotel in the heart of Waco. It's just a few city blocks from the Silos, making this one of the best boutique hotels in Waco near Magnolia Market.
The space is absolutely gorgeous, with hand-picked items from Joanna Gaines herself. The 50,000-square-foot building had been sitting vacant for a while, and Chip and Jo partnered with an investment firm to bring it back to life.
The result? Event spaces, restaurants, an absolutely darling sunken library, a cafe, a boutique store, and the coolest rooftop patio.
I will say this: while the restaurant's design and accommodations here are absolutely gorgeous, I've been less than impressed with the food here. But perhaps time will help Hotel 1928 glow up a little bit in the food and beverage department.
