The Best Restaurants For Brunch In Waco

1. Barnett’s Whiskey House

J. S. Barnett’s Whiskey House

I know, I know…the first time someone told me the best brunch in Waco is at Texas’s largest whiskey bar and pub, which seems to also have an Irish theme to it…I was baffled. But then I saw the light. This Waco brunch spot is amazing!

Barnett’s is incredibly popular for a reason. It’s a southern-inspired brunch with big boozy cocktails, lots of bacon, and some delicious desserts. It’s also one of the few Waco brunch spots that serves brunch Friday through Sunday morning!

From classic southern biscuits and gravy to their full line up of various benedicts to the award-winning bacon bar, Barnett’s Whiskey House is going to deliver. And it’s 100% going to earn you that post-brunch nap.

2. Harvest on 25th

Harvest on 25th

I absolutely adore Harvest on 25th, and I wholeheartedly recommend you check it out for brunch the next time you’re craving something delicious and healthy! It’s a farm-to-table restaurant that sources most of their ingredients from nearby farmers and purveyors in the Central Texas area.

They serve their breakfast menu all day (they’re open until around 3 pm most days), so if you want a farm-fresh omelet or a hearty breakfast bowl at 1 pm, this is your spot!

Or if you just want a casual place for a delicious Waco brunch, swing by on a Saturday or Sunday morning. You’ll order at the counter, seat yourself, and a server will bring your meal to you. They tend to run a little slow during the busiest hours, so settle in, order a beverage while you wait, and enjoy a slower morning.

3. Segovia Wine Bar

Segovia Wine Bar

You might not think of a wine bar as one of the best brunch spots in Waco, so allow me to share it with you! Segovia is an authentic Spanish tapas bar, which happens to be a really fun place to brunch. Spanish cuisine involves a lot of seafood, potatoes, and ham- all of which are perfect brunch foods.

I love their classic Spanish tortilla, which is Spain's national dish: egg, potato & onion omelet. It’s nothing like a “tortilla” you might find in the states. It’s definitely more of a hearty egg dish.

They also have lots of benedicts, roasted potatoes and eggs, yummy salads, and various breakfast toasts topped with seafood. If you love hearty, savory breakfast food, you’ll love this spot for your next Waco brunch.

4. Milo All Day

Milo All Day

When you ask anyone for the best brunch spots in Waco, Milo All Day is sure to come up in conversation! This place is always hoppin’, which makes sense because they have delicious farm-to-table southern cuisine, a really pretty restaurant space, and phenomenal branding! It’s just a cute spot!

They offer both Saturday and Sunday brunch from 10-3, which is nice if you’re looking for a place that has Saturday brunch in Waco.

There are so many great things on the brunch menu that I don’t even know where to start! Try the blue corn pancakes with fresh berries and whipped ricotta, the sweet tea brined fried chicken on a buttermilk biscuit, or the Farmers Daughter, which is a hearty veggie bowl that I love when I’m craving something really nourishing.

5. Magnolia Table

Best Restaurants in Waco Texas

Magnolia Table might be the most famous brunch restaurant in Waco. Maybe one of the most famous restaurants, period! It’s from Chip and Joanna Gaines, of Fixer Upper fame. They opened this farmhouse breakfast and lunch restaurant in 2018 and everyone immediately went CRAZY. Like, 3-hour waits for brunch every single weekend.

Now that we’re a few years into Magnolia Table, the brunch queues aren’t quite as significant. But you can still expect a crowd on Saturday mornings! Note that just like Magnolia Market at the Silos, Magnolia Table restaurant is closed on Sundays.

The interior is gorgeous, just the way you’d expect Joanna Gaines’s kitchen to look. There’s a farmhouse/chic feel to the space, with white brick walls, worn leather chairs, and wooden tabletops, plus lots of natural light throughout the restaurant.

The menu is packed with deliciousness! Try the Gaines Brothers burger, which is made with 44 Farms beef, or indulge in Jo’s crunchy French toast, coated in house made caramel cornflake crunch and topped with whipped cream and strawberries. Yum.

6. Our Breakfast Place

Our Breakfast Place

Our Breakfast Place is a classic Waco brunch spot that’s open for breakfast any day of the week except Wednesdays. They have an extensive menu with pretty much any brunch/breakfast item you could want! There are benedicts, omelets, French toast plates, skillets, breakfast tacos, scrambles, hashes…plus lunch items, a kids menu, and seasonal pancakes.

The food is delish and the service is friendly…but overall this place is a bit like the breakfast spots you might have gone to in the early 2000s. (Another Broken Egg Cafe, Egg ’lectic Cafe, you know? Those types of places.) It opened in 2012 and the decor is kind of stuck there. So it’s not going to be that memorable restaurant ambiance that you might get at a place like Magnolia Table with all the cute decor. But overall, Our Breakfast Place is a good breakfast diner spot in Waco!

7. Slow Rise Slice House

Slow Rise Slice House

A pizza restaurant for brunch? Yes! Slow Rise is one of the best kid-friendly restaurants in Waco, and it also happens to be one of the best brunch spots for the whole family in Waco!

They have chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, and then a lot of variations on these menu items (regular waffles, biscuits with fried chicken, crispy chicken sandwich) plus brunch cocktails like mimosas and bloody mars.

I love Slow Rise as a brunch option in Waco when you don’t want to wait for a table. Their MLK Blvd location is MASSIVE so they always have plenty of tables available. So if you’re dining with kids and know that they won’t be able to wait long, Slow Rise Slice House might be your best bet.

8. Pignetti’s

1 Pignetti's Waco

Pignetti’s is one of the most underrated brunch spots in Waco. This family-owned Italian restaurant started in Temple, TX and opened their second location here in Waco. They’re open for brunch every Sunday.

They have some traditional Italian entrees, like ribeye lasagna, and chicken perm. But you can also get more classic brunch fare, like their “Italian avocado toast” (Italian toast topped with an avocado and ricotta spread, crisp prosciutto, and tomato) or waffles with powdered sugar and mascarpone maple syrup.
